My husband and I, along with our three children, started fostering in 2020. Our first child was a five-year-old boy who was abused by a previous foster family ending in a brain injury. When he came to us, he needed 24/7 care for the first four months. Eventually, his three-year-old brother came into our home as well.
Both boys were in our care for two years before they became a permanent part of our family. These boys have come a long way in their stories. Today, if you were to meet them you would be shocked at all they’ve been through due to their positive and loving personalities. They have forgiven in areas that even adults struggle with and have taught us how to love deeply and live life with joy.
Since their adoption, we have continued to foster and 5 more children came into our home. Our family is now a family of 7 and recently, we hung up our fostering hats to dedicate our time raising our children.
The need for more foster families, loving homes, is huge. These stories are heartbreaking but resilient. We have been blessed with two incredible sons who have experienced foster care and one day, we hope to put our hats back on and foster again.
Our whole family has been changed by foster care.
