The Metellus Family

The Start of Our Journey

Our foster care journey began in 2019, when we opened our hearts and home to children in need of love, stability, and belonging. Since then, we’ve had the honor of fostering over a dozen children — ranging from newborns to 4 years old — each one leaving a lasting imprint on our hearts.

In 2023, we were placed with a bright, joyful baby boy named Sebastian when he was just four months old. From the moment he entered our lives, it felt as though he had always been ours. Through all the milestones, doctor visits, family trips, and bedtime cuddles, we became not only his caregivers but his safe place. In 2025, with full hearts, we officially adopted him into our family. Sebastian is now almost 3 years old and is the light of our lives.

We are also currently on the journey of adopting our second son, Isaac who has been with us since he was just two days old. He recently turned two, and it’s been a gift to walk through every “first” with him — from his first smile to his first steps and beyond.

The Lesson of Foster Care

Being foster parents hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been worth it. The love we’ve given has been returned tenfold. Our extended family, church, and community have embraced each child who’s come into our home. We believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.

This journey has taught us resilience, compassion, and the true meaning of family — and we wouldn’t change it for anything.
